Benefits of joining your local society

We are a small community of doctors, from the newly graduated to the seasoned practitioners. We pride ourselves in knowing every member without needing name tags! You do not need to live or work in San Mateo County to be a part of SMCOS. As a member of SMCOS, you are also a member of the California Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.

SMCOS organizes eight 2-hour in-person continuing education meetings per year to help keep doctors at the forefront of clinical treatment and management, and to encourage dialogue and camaraderie.
